Carved from a piece of a Maple tree in my parent’s neighbor’s backyard in Seattle, WA. The tree was dying so it had to be cut down and I was able to harvest a few branches. The black lines are a result of spalting, a kind of wood colouration that is caused when fungi colonise the wood and extract nutrients from it. The abstract tea pick was carved from the same branch as the scoop, so is the pick rest.
Finished with mineral oil, a food safe and odorless wood finish
Dimensions: 5.75”L x 2.25”W x 1”H
Pictured is 5 grams of a Yan Cha for size reference
