Liu Bao is a post-fermented tea from the Hei Cha (Dark Tea) category, hailing from Guangxi, China. One of the original aged teas, Liu Bao is traditionally stored in large bamboo baskets to develop over time. Like pu'er, it comes in both raw and ripe styles, each offering distinctive earthy complexity with bold notes of damp forest floor, wet wood, and minerality that deepen with age.
